Chobi Sultani — A Living Heirloom from the Heart of Jawzjan
In the northern reaches of Afghanistan, where the ancient Silk Road once carried the world's most precious goods, three master weavers sat down together and began to create something extraordinary. Over the course of 10 weeks, their hands moved with quiet precision — knot by knot, row by row — breathing life into what would become this Chobi Sultani carpet.
The Sultani design is one of the most revered patterns in Afghan carpet heritage. Named for its regal, garden-inspired motifs, it draws from centuries of Persian and Central Asian artistic tradition. Graceful floral medallions, sinuous vines, and blooming botanicals unfold across a deep cerulean blue field — a color that evokes the lapis lazuli mined from Afghanistan's own mountains. Accents of ivory, burgundy, forest green, and warm earth tones weave through the composition, creating a tapestry that is both harmonious and alive with detail.
Every thread is 100% natural wool, hand-spun and dyed using time-honored techniques that produce colors of remarkable depth and longevity. Unlike synthetic alternatives, natural wool softens beautifully with age, growing richer and more lustrous with every passing year.
