The lapis lazuli originates from Sar-e-Sang, Badakhshan—one of Afghanistan’s historic sources of this celebrated blue gemstone. Each mineral element is carefully selected, shaped, assembled, polished and hand-finished in Kabul. A coordinating lapis lazuli pedestal and brass meridian complete the sculptural composition.
